Research Professor of IDAEA-CSIC. For more than 17 years his professional career was developed in the public management of aspects related to water quality. Currently, his research focuses on protecting the quality of water throughout its cycle, taking into account the relationships between chemistry and ecology, ecotoxicology, wastewater treatment and risk assessment. He has participated in 22 research projects. He has published 87 scientific articles (index H 29), 27 book chapters, 9 patents and has published 4 books.


Research Professor of the IDAEA-CSIC and director of the Catalan Institute of Research of l'Aigua (ICRA). His research career has been developed around the quality of water, particularly in the development of analytical methods to assess the presence of emerging organic pollutants in natural and residual water. He has participated in 50 research projects and supervised 50 doctoral theses. He has published more than 900 scientific articles (index H 91) and 178 book chapters. Editor of 26 books. Awarded the King Jaume I prize in the category of Environmental Protection in 2007.


PhD in Pharmacy (University of Santiago de Compostela), post-doctoral researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Maryland (USA) and researcher at IDAEA-CSIC since 1998. Her research focuses on the analysis of pollutants emerging and prioirtarios in the aquatic environment to evaluate their presence, destination and impact on the environment and eventually on man. He has participated in 32 research projects. He has published 153 scientific articles (index H 53), 27 book chapters, and has more than 250 contributions to national and international conferences.


PhD in Sciences (University of Barcelona), Marie Curie researcher in the US. Environmental Protection Agency (Triangle Research Park, NC, USA) and post-doctoral researcher at IDAEA-CSIC since 2014. His scientific activity has focused on adapting water treatments to control and reduce the presence of emerging organic pollutants and training of disinfection byproducts (DBPs) in water, with the ultimate goal of generating good quality water, and thereby safeguarding public health. He has participated in 10 research projects. He has published 38 scientific articles, and 18 book chapters, and has 70 contributions to national and international conferences.


BSc in Biology from the University of Tuscia (Italy), MSc in Evolutionary Biology, Ecology and Applied Anthropology from the University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy), and PhD student at the IDAEA-CSIC since 2017. Awarded with a scholarship from the Program ERASMUS + to participate in the UNIPHARMA-GRADUATES project at the University of Barcelona in 2017. The study of environmental pollution has motivated all its work as an educational activity. His PhD studies focus on the study of the presence of pesticides in the drainage waters of agricultural fields and on the different evaluation proposals for their elimination.


BSc in Geology (University of Barcelona), MSc in Water Geology (Polytechnic University of Barcelona) and Master in General Management (PDG-EADA). He has more than 16 years of work experience in the water sector. Since 2002 he is the Technical Director of CUADLL. He also works as a consultant advising other Associations of Water Users. He is co-founder of CEO Bluephage, a spin-off of the University of Barcelona, whose mission is to use bacteriophages as indicators of the presence of viruses to improve the microbiological quality of water and contribute to the safety of water, food and biosolids.



BSc in Geology (Autonomous University of Barcelona), MSc in Hydrogeology (Polytechnic University of Catalonia) and expert in research and recovery of soil and contaminated groundwater (University of Barcelona). His work experience has been developed around the chemistry of water, planning and management, artificial recharge tests, and field work related to control networks, work that has been developing in CUADLL for more than 12 years.



Agricultural Engineer (Higher Technical School of Agricultural Engineering, Lleida University). He has more than 20 years of work experience in management in the agricultural sector. Since 2013 he is Technical Director of the Agrarian Park of Baix Llobregat. He also works as a consultant advising other agrarian parks in different areas of the world.




Agricultural Engineer (Polytechnic University of Catalonia). He has more than 15 years of work experience in management in the agricultural sector. He has a long work experience in project management, and extensive knowledge about the irrigation and drainage network of the Agrarian Park of Baix LLobregat and aspects related to monitoring the quality of water used for irrigation in this area.




BSc in Environmental Sciences (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona), she has more than 16 years of work experience in management in the agricultural sector. Specialized in the management of agricultural engineering projects, maintenance of agricultural infrastructure (roads and irrigation canals) and monitoring of water quality.




MSc in Chemistry (University of Barcelona). He joined Aguas de Barcelona in 1988, where he worked in the management of the Water Resources Control Unit from 1991 to 1999. He then went on to manage the Sant Joan Despí water treatment plant until 2007. Since then, he has been responsible for Water Quality Management in Aguas de Barcelona. He has participated in several national and international projects and participates in evaluation committees of the technical part of European project proposals.


BSc in Pharmacy (University of Barcelona) and MSc in Business Administration (ESADE). Specialist in water quality and laboratory management. He has worked at Aguas de Barcelona since 1994, where he has held different positions of responsibility. He is currently Director of Water Quality and Technical Director of the Barcelona Water Laboratory. He is also Responsible for Health Safety of the company, the first to obtain ISO 22000 in food safety in Spain. Member of the Spanish Association of Water Supply and Sanitation (AEAS), Spanish representative on EUREAU (Drinking Water Committee) and member of the International Water Association (IWA). Author of several publications and contributions to national and international conferences.


PhD in Sciences (University of Barcelona) and a degree in Chemical Sciences, specialty in Organic Chemistry (Autonomous University of Barcelona). Responsible for the Area of Organic Chemistry in the Water Quality Management of Water of Barcelona since 2010, company in which he has been working since 1990. He has extensive knowledge in drinking water and wastewater treatments, and especially in the analysis and behavior of organic pollutants. Author of more than 29 publications in international scientific journals, and numerous contributions to national and international conferences. He has participated in several national and international research projects.
